Shop windows, glass façades and work at height.
Glass is not a line item inside a cleaning contract: it is a job with its own equipment, techniques and risks. That is why it has its own page, and why we treat it as a speciality.
Shop windows that must be clean before opening, offices with curtain walls, verandas and skylights. Above a certain height we work with a telescopic pole and purified water, which dries without streaks and without anyone climbing.
Where the ground cannot reach and there is no anchor point, we say so upfront: we would rather lose a job than send someone up in conditions we are not happy with.
Shop, bar and showroom windows
A dirty window costs customers before anyone walks in, which is why it is cleaned at seven in the morning and not at eleven. Weekly or twice-weekly visits, always before opening, including the frames and sills where street grime collects.
Office glazing and curtain walls
A floor of offices with a curtain wall cannot be washed from inside: it needs access from outside, a method and a sequence. It is done floor by floor, on agreed days, and recorded, because on mirrored glass the difference only shows in the right light.
Telescopic poles and purified water
Mains water leaves its limescale behind when it evaporates: that is where streaks come from, not from the cloth. Purified water has the salts removed, so it dries on its own and no squeegee touches the glass. A fibre pole reaches four floors from the ground, with no scaffold, no platform and no closing off the pavement.
Glass at height, and when we say no
Above pole height you need an aerial platform or rope access, with operators trained and insured to do it. Where there is no certified anchor and no safe way up, we do not take the job. It is a sentence that has cost us a few quotes and saved us accidents.
Verandas, skylights and conservatories
Sloping glass, often hard to reach, almost always neglected because you cannot see it from inside. We work on the surface and on the frame, with an eye on the seals: a skylight cleaned with the wrong product stops being watertight, and then it rains indoors.
